The International Symposium
"Quality of Higher Education and Professional Recognition"

The Russian Association for Engineering Education, the Association for Technical Universities and Tomsk Polytechnic University together with the RF Ministry of Education and Science, the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science and Federal Education Agency will hold in Moscow the International Symposium "Quality of Higher Education and Professional Recognition".

The symposium agenda includes the following issues:

  • quality of higher education and specialists' training as a socially significant outcome;

  • preparation of specialists for professional activity at an entrepreneurial university;

  • quality management system at a higher educational institution;

  • the Bologna process and quality assurance systems in higher education;

  • public and professional assessment of education quality and accreditation of engineering educational programmes;

  • certification and registration of professional engineers;

  • international recognition of specialists' degrees and qualifications.

The representatives from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (USA), the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (Canada), and EUR-ACE Project (European Commission) will participate in this Symposium.

Dates and Venues

The Symposium will be held on 9-11 November 2005 in Moscow Institute of Radiotechnics, Electronics and Automation (technical university) (78, Vernadsky Ave. 117454, Moscow)

Call for papers and contributions

Authors are asked to send papers by e-mail, prepared in Microsoft Word (12 pt. Times New Roman; single line-to-line spacing). All pictures and schemes should be grouped.

The title of the report, first and last name of the author, and the e-mail address should be placed on the first page.

The abstract should not be more than 200-300 words. Publication of the full paper (up to 4 pages) in the Symposium Proceedings is possible in accordance with the demands of the symposium.

Deadlines

Authors should note the following deadlines:

    Receipt of applications and paper proposals: 1 October 2005

Accommodation

Accommodation will be provided by the Salute Hotel in one of the most ecologically clean and green areas of Moscow, 'Tropalyevo' metro station (Metro Yugo-Zapadnaya). Bus transportation to the Moscow Institute of Radiotechnics, Electronics and Automation will be available to the Seminar participants.

The Seminar fee will be EUR 200.
