SITE Project ("Siberia, Information Technologies and Europe")
July 1, 2004 was the launch date of the SITE Project ("Siberia, Information Technologies and Europe") financed by the EU Committee. The SITE Project was won by the Russian Association for Engineering Education in the contest of IST FP6. Singleimage Company (Great Britain) is the coordinator of the project; the Russian Association for Engineering Education and FFG (Austria) acting as its partners. The SITE Project is IST-based and is intended for 30 months; the regions of Siberian Federal District are regarded as its participants. The major objective of the SITE Project is to strengthen co-operation between Siberian and European researchers within the framework of IST FP6 (Information Society Technology). Within the framework of the project the first group of scientists from Siberian Federal District took part in Med-e-Tel conference which was held in Luxemburg on April 6-8 in 2005. Scientists from Siberia delivered their reports and presented their best scientific ideas. They have also established contacts with their prospective partners from the EU with the aim of writing joined applications for EU financing based on the upcoming contest of IST FP6. The second group of Siberian scientists is getting ready to take part in IST Mobile Summit conference which will be held on June 19-23 2005 in Dresden. All the costs related to the visit of our scientists are covered by the budget of the SITE Project. |
